 is a migrant focused, environmental and sewing cooperative committed to recycling migrant clothes and artifacts left behind at lay-up sites in the Sonoran Desert. By eliminating the waste in remote regions and by creating a funky but chic clothing line and quilt, LD funds educational and vocational grants, and micro-credit loans to women and children in Latin America. By reducing waste, reusing the items, and recycling the clothes, the cooperative restores the desert and the lives of impoverished Latin American families so they do not have to leave their home countries for work. |
